Community Health (Nursing) Centre


The Community Health (Nursing) Centre is a part of the Health Department. Our focus is to empower Tl’azt’en Nation’s Members to choose a healthier life style, by providing holistic health programs which encourage their spiritual, mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. The Community Health (Nursing) Centre provides many services to members, including:

  • Assisting with the prevention of communicable diseases
  • Childhood scheduled immunizations from 2 months to grade 6
  • Tuberculosis screenings for children 10 months to grade 6
  • All adult immunizations
  • Flu clinic
  • School visits to promote various subjects
  • Workshops on CPNP, HIV, diabetes and other chronic conditions
  • New born and Maternal Home Visists
  • Vaccine and Supply ordering
  • Minor Wound Care
  • Mobile Eye Exams
  • Specialist Appointments
  • Emergency Response
  • Eye Exams
  • Mobile diabetes clinic
  • Dental appointments


The Community Health (Nursing) Centre has also been successful in creating, maintain and promoting many programs, including:

  • Health and Fitness program
  • Young Father’s program
  • Healthy Eating Program
  • Walking Club
  • On-Going Prenatal and Postnatal monthly gatherings
  • HIV workshops
  • Quarterly Health Fair
