Tl’azt’en Nation is taking action for the well-being of our children and families! Since the ratification of the Comprehensive Community Plan (CCP) in September 2023, we have made significant progress in aligning our goals with community priorities.
As of 2025, our work continues to focus on building a sustainable, culturally grounded approach to child and family services, ensuring that every Tl’azt’en child has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, supportive environment.
Key Actions in 2025:
✅ Implementation of Tl’azt’en-led child and family priorities identified in the CCP
✅ Establishment of a Children & Families Committee and Working Group
✅ Creation of a new community position to enhance local capacity and support
✅ Hosting community engagement sessions in Tache and beyond
✅ Conducting research on how other First Nations approach child and family services
✅ Developing a Tl’azt’en-led Child & Family Services Program
Why This Matters
This initiative is community-driven, meaning it is shaped by your input and designed to align with Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) Capacity Building Funding. This ensures that resources are directed where they are most needed—to create effective, culturally grounded prevention programs that support Tl’azt’en children and families.
