We will build trust with the communities by working towards the restoration and support of the traditional family and ensuring that children residing outside their home maintain connections to their family, identity, culture and community. The communities will be empowered to carry forward the traditions of caring into the next generation and will be guided by the teaching of the Elders.
Nezul Be Hunuyeh (NBH) is a Delegated Aboriginal Agency established in 2002 to provide Child and Family services to the communities of Tl’azt’en and Nak’azdli. The head office is located in Fort St James with a satellite office located in Prince George. The Agency is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the leadership of Tl’azt’en and Nak’azdli.
Some of the services provided :
- Support and information to families who are involved with MCFD
- Assistance in the development and implementation of safety plans for children where MCFD is involved
- Assist the Tl’azt’en Community Wellness Team in supporting families
- Assistance in identifying alternate caregivers for children when parents are not able to provide care
- Attendance at family court proceeding to provide support and information to families
- Attending meetings with families to ensure the voices of children and families
- are heard and considered
- Advocating on behalf of children and families for services
- Provision of information and referrals to community services
- Advocating for visits between children in care and their families
- Provision of Guardianship services to children in permanent care
- Recruiting and supporting foster homes
- Providing in home parenting support and information through our Family
- Preservation Program
- Ensuring cultural and family connections are maintained for children in care and/or adopted out
- Working in collaboration and partnership with the Bands, MCFD and other social service agencies to ensure children are safe, families are supported and to build community capacity.

- Eagles Nest Program Wednesdays at Eugene Joseph School

- Annual Culture Camp in August for children in care/adopted out and their families
- May Family Picnic for children in care/adopted out and their families
- Young Warriors Program for Youth in Care (Prince George )
- Training for non Carrier Caregivers
- Foster Parent Appreciation Event
- Community Breakfast Program – 1st Thursday of the Month Fort St James

- Monthly Lifebook (Scrapbooking ) Sessions for Children in Care
