IMPORTANT NOTICE: Animal Control & Safety Requirements

By February 13, 2025No Comments

Tl’azt’en Nation Chief & Council would like to remind all community members of our updated animal safety rules and new reporting process:

Contain Your Animals:

All dogs and other animals must be kept inside your home or within your yard’s perimeter.

If your animal is outside, it must have a collar and be secured on a chain/line so it cannot run freely.

Mandatory Forms:

As per BCR No. 1965, everyone in Tl’azt’en Nation who owns or cares for an animal must complete an Animal Registration Form and agree to the Responsible Animal Owner Agreement.

An Animal Aggression, Control & Concern Report form is also available if you need to report an incident.

Possible Removal of Animals:

Animals that are aggressive or not under proper control can be removed with little or no notice, for the safety of the community.

Failure to register or properly secure your animal may result in it being apprehended.

Need Help?

If you are unable to care for your animal due to financial or mobility constraints, please contact the Administration Building.

We can help connect you with a delegated animal care agency.

Your cooperation helps keep our community safe and healthy.

Please share this post and encourage your neighbors to follow these guidelines.

Thank you,

Tl’azt’en Nation Chief & Council
